Bhagya Ranasinghe
Bhagya Ranasinghe is an Sri
Lankan Artist , Singer , Music & Film Producer , Entrepreneur , Translator and Editor known for her work in Sinhala Music & Film Industry 18 years since in her Childhood.
She is known as a Singer for her unique voice of singing. She has won two Gold
Medals in All Island Award For Best Female Singing in Indian Classical Music – Award
for Best Female Singing for Indian Classical Music (2002) and Award for Best
Female Singing for Indian Classical Music (2003). In addition to Singing, she
is currently the Music & Film Producer of Mermaid Production & Art
Studio. Her father, Nalaka Anjana Kumara, is a famous Classical Musician and most
Prominent Guitarist in Sri Lanka while her mother is an English Teacher. After
finishing her Plus Two education, she completed her schooling for Higher
Secondary school learning languages like Japanese, English Literature, with
Indian Classical Music. She later joined IDM Nations Campus for higher studies
in Software & System Developing and
graduated HND In Computing & Systems Development completing her course B.Sc(Hons) In
Business IT from University of Greenwich and currently perusing B.Sc(Hons) In Computing
from Bucks New University. She currently works as an Editor of English News at
Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) as well as a program producer at SLBC. she speaks languages like Tamil , Hindi , Telugu, Japanese except English and Sinhala, stating that she is "good at anything I put my mind to" and she believes she could have done better than that. And She is also
nick-named as Buggy, Johnny, Meow.
